Phan Ku Ryu Jujutsu
Phan Ku Ryu is a traditional Japanese style of Jujitsu. Jujitsu means soft technique and refers to the idea of using a person's energy against them. Col. Mark Miles (U.S. Army Ret.) developed this system from his 60 plus years of study, starting at the Jujitsu Institute of Chicage in 1938. Col. Miles taught hand to hand combat to U.S. Marines, U.S. Army, MP's and the Green Beret's. This system covers falls, throws, chokes, joint locks and strikes. It was designed to be taught to military personnel for their unarmed self-defense system
The class incorporates some Brazillian Jujitsu. Mr. Bystedt has trained with Aurrelio Gallegos, Franjinha Miller, Vinicius Draculino and Leonaedo Xavier.
